Zafire’s continued support for local youth football team Doveridge Juniors FC has recently been marked by the creation of a new strip, funded by Zafire.
“It’s great to be able to combine a passion for football with a sponsorship initiative that also helps local youngsters develop key life skills that will stand them in good stead throughout their lives,” observed Zafire Technical Director Jonathan Slim. “Playing football isn’t just good for health and fitness, it also teaches team working skills as well as leadership and an understanding of strategy – not to mention ambition and that all important sense of achievement,” he added.
Zafire has been sponsoring Doveridge Juniors since 2010. The team plays in the Zafire-sponsored Burton Junior Youth Football League Division 2 and currently lies second in the table. The first game wearing the new strip was played in September 2013, resulting in a 6-2 win over Branston. “Clearly the new jerseys had an inspirational effect,” Jonathan joked.
