Back in the nineties, Grant Winter was studying Business and Leisure Management at Farnborough College of Technology in Hampshire, UK, just a couple of miles away from Farnborough Airport, home to the renowned Farnborough International Airshow.  Little did Grant know back then that his career was about to take off big time in the Aviation industry.  Well, lucky for us that it did, because he joins Zafire as our Head of Commercial with over twenty years\u2019 experience in the industry.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Grant began working in the world of Aviation back in 1998 for British Midland (which was subsequently acquired by IAG, the owner of British Airways, in 2012) at London Heathrow Terminal 1 where he worked in both customer service and aircraft ground dispatch.  After a stint at Virgin Atlantic just down the road at London Heathrow Terminal 3, Grant was offered a ground handling role with Dnata<\/a><\/strong> (part of Emirates Group<\/a><\/strong>) which entailed his relocation to Dubai in 2003.  He subsequently moved within Emirates Group to Emirates Airline<\/a><\/strong> in 2006 where he worked as Manager Operations Services until returning to the UK to join Zafire on 20 September 2022. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grant is, in fact, already known to some of the Zafire team thanks to all the Zafire projects he led and implemented in his role as Manager Operations Services at Emirates Airline.  His first-hand experience as a customer of Zafire\u2019s means that he is well aware of the business benefits of our Global Aviation Software Solutions<\/a><\/strong>.  In his role as our Head of Commercial, we are inevitably expecting great things of him because of his unique experience (no pressure, Grant!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018I really enjoyed being a customer of Zafire\u2019s at Emirates Airline,\u2019 says Grant.  \u2018I absolutely love Zafire\u2019s products and its people.  I\u2019m inevitably very excited about my new role here as Head of Commercial which I feel brings together all my experience in the Aviation industry and will undoubtedly provide me with opportunities to learn even more about the commercial side of the industry.\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reporting to Rachel Wesson, our Commercial Director, Grant will develop, lead, and manage all commercial activities at Zafire Group Ltd, working with the rest of the Commercial Team to support the business in its sales in both Aviation and Service Management.  As well as over 20 years\u2019 experience in the Aviation industry, Grant is commercially and financially astute with expertise in strategic planning.  These key attributes together with his proven strong leadership, calm approach, negotiation skills, customer engagement expertise, and true passion for getting results right first time, mean that Grant\u2019s appointment is not just incredibly exciting for our Commercial Team but also for our business as a whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his spare time, Grant is a keen sports photographer and his football, rugby, cricket, and golf photos are regularly snapped up by agencies in the UK and France.  When he\u2019s not busy shooting professional sports, Grant enjoys spending time with his wife and two teenaged children who were both born in Dubai.  We asked Grant what his favourite memory of living in Dubai as an expat was, expecting him to tell us about the glorious weather and the fascinating culture.  His reply gives you an idea of what an all-round decent chap Grant is: \u2018As lovely as Dubai is, my favourite memory of the time I spent there is the birth of my two kids,\u2019 says Grant.  With such a wholesome vibe like that, Grant is going to fit in perfectly at Zafire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
