The excitement is building at Zafire House here in Banbury, UK, as we get ourselves ready for IGHC 2022! IATA\u2019s Ground Handling Conference is one of the industry\u2019s premier events. This year, it takes place from 31 May to 2 June 2022 at the Palais Brongniart in Paris, France. We can\u2019t wait to rub shoulders with friends old and new, and show off our ground handling tech wizardry in the magical capital of France.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Now, you\u2019re bound to know that Paris is nicknamed the city of light (and of love!). However, you\u2019re much less likely to know that it\u2019s also the birthplace of the first woman in the world to have earned a pilot\u2019s licence. Renowned aviator, Elise Deroche, also known as Baroness Raymonde de Laroche, was born there on 22 August 1882. She received her pilot\u2019s licence from A\u00e9ro-Club de France on 8 March 1910. Aviation has come a long, long way since 1910 (notwithstanding COVID-19!). Of course, we\u2019d love to know what the pioneering Baroness would make of our own pioneering products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
